The Construction Management Foundation’s core objective is to drive construction industry improvement and we envision a South African construction industry that builds sustainable value for society and its clients. We draw together construction, real estate and infrastructure leaders, academics, professionals and researchers from across the construction sector to identify how to promote solutions to meet the ambition of reducing the cost of delivering construction projects while driving substantial reduction in project duration and achieving the goal of sustainable development in the built environment. We believe in order to achieve these goals of efficiency and sustainability – lean thinking and lean project delivery methods are central. Therefore, lean thinking is a guiding philosophy to our approach in improving the construction sector in South Africa.
